Last weekend I was with my family at the volcano. We had hiked in to see the lava the night before and I was alone in wanting to get up to watch the sunrise. The rest woke gradually and enjoyed a cozy breakfast by the fire. I set out to the Kilauea overlook in the dark but missed the glow by minutes. Wet and windy but lovely as it cleared. The painting is now in progress - just a bit more to do….
