JANE WORD TAYLOR ART: There is a sense of timeless balance between the essence of place and its various iterations. I love the interaction of the abstract shapes with the sometimes whimsical details of the moment. Paintings displayed chronologically - click to enlarge. Last weekend I was with my family at the volcano. We had hiked in to see the lava the night before and I was alone in wanting to get up to watch the sunrise. The rest woke gradually and enjoyed a cozy breakfast by the fire. I set out to the Kilauea overlook in the dark but missed the glow by minutes. Wet and windy but lovely as it cleared. The painting is now in progress - just a bit more to do….

The summer of 2021 has been exciting: I began painting with the "Painting Out There" plein air group and it was just the jump start I needed to make painting a daily routine again, after 30 years of putting it on the back burner. I am beginning to sell, and will post available paintings soon, but if you see something that attracts you in older posts or on facebook, please email JaneWTaylor@icloud.com
